Our Policies


Please call our office at 713-795-4785 during normal business hours from 9 a.m. to 4 a.m. to make an appointment. You can also request an appointment online by completing the information in the Contact Us page. Every effort will be made by the schedulers to accommodate your choices of physicians and times.

We require that you bring all results for any labs and diagnostic tests from your referring providers to expedite the consultation and minimize your out-of-pocket expenses to avoid ordering further testing.

We appreciate a 24-hour notice in the event you need to cancel your appointment. A deposit of $30 may be required to reschedule if you do not keep your appointment or fail to cancel in a timely manner.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover in the office and by phone. to – We only accept all major credit cards. No cash or checks.

If you have a medical emergency after hours, please contact our answering service at 713-795-4785 and they will contact the doctor on call who will return your call promptly. If you require immediate attention, dial 911 and visit the nearest hospital.

Prescription Refills

Please plan ahead. Keep your prescription numbers and call your pharmacy 24 hours in advance when your medication requires refilling. Our doctor on call can refill only essential medication after hours and on weekends.

Please note that because our medical personnel are attending to patients all throughout the day, your prescriptions will be filled faster electronically.

Requests for prescription refills are processed during office hours only. Our doctors will not routinely write prescriptions or issue refill prescriptions during evenings or weekends.

When you need a prescription refill for a medication prescribed by one of our physicians, call your pharmacy even if you have no refills left. The pharmacy will contact us for authorization to fill your medication. We need 24-48 hours to process the pharmacy’s authorization request, so please plan your refill requests accordingly.

Financial Policy

Neurology Consultants of Houston, P.A. accepts all major medical plans as well as Medicare. We are no longer accepting any Medicare advantage plans. Please contact our office to make sure we are on your plan before you make your appointment.

Insurance Coverage: As a service to our patients, we will bill the insurance carrier(s) for you. However, the patient is ultimately responsible for paying any and all medical expenses incurred.

While we will help in any way possible, your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance provider. Please contact your insurance provider to verify your benefit level before each visit.

Insurance Referrals/Authorization: Neurology Consultants of Houston, P.A. attempts to obtain appropriate insurance referrals prior to the office visit or procedure. However, it is the patient’s responsibility to verify that these referrals/authorizations are in place before services/tests are performed. All patients should be aware that if services or tests are performed without proper authorization, they may be financially responsible for the entire bill.

Insurance / Co-payments: All co-payments are due at the time of service.

No Insurance Coverage: For patients with no insurance coverage, Neurology Consultants of Houston, P.A. requires all new, uninsured patients to deposit $100 for a new appointment. Patients with no insurance should talk with the Patient Accounts Department (available during our normal office hours) about our Prompt Pay Discount.

Credit/Debit Cards: Neurology Consultants of Houston, P.A. accepts VISA, MasterCard and Discover in the office and over the phone.

We take pride in our accessibility to both referring providers and patients. We try to do so as quickly as possible and provide results immediately to the patients and their referring providers.
